Dondo was called this way because his father’s name was Secondo, called Dondo, and he had inherited both his job and his nickname. He was Tito’s best friend, with whom he always argued.
Varisio was a worker with a very strong sense of humor and a passion for jokes. His name comes from the mispronunciation of a well know comedian of the first years of the ‘900.
Cilindro was a factotum inside the furnace, but its peculiarity was the precision in adjusting the mechanical components, so much so that it was named as an essential component of precision of engine.
